The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for recognizing voice in a portable device. Especially, the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for recognizing voice by recombining commands in a portable device. The present invention may include a step of displaying voice control applications, a step of extracting and classifying the key words of a command unit from a voice received in a voice receiving process, a step of generating a final command by rearranging the classified key words according to a predetermined control order, and a function execution step of executing functions by processing the final command. Therefore, a method of processing commands is provided without an external voice recognition server in a voice recognition process, thereby improving the process speed of a portable terminal and providing more efficient voice recognition service.
