The present invention relates to an electronic device and, more specifically, to an electronic device and a method for controlling the operation mode of the same. According to the present invention, a first electronic device includes at least one processor and memory. The processor can be configured to: output call data received from a third electronic device through a second electronic device; transmit call data received from the second electronic device to the third electronic device; and change a call mode based on the approach of the second electronic device or on the status information of the second electronic device.
