<p>When a glass substrate is manufactured, it is restraint to mix with a foreign substance manufactured with platinum or a platinum alloy volatilized from a clarifier used in a process of manufacturing a glass substrate. When the glass substrate is manufactured, melting galss is generated by melting glass material. In the clarifier comprising platinum or a platinum alloy and including a pipe in a heated gauge shape, while passing the melting galss in a situation wherein vapour space is formed, a clarifying process is performed, which includes defoamation relasing foams from the melting glass to the vapour space by heating the melting glass. At this time, the pipe of te clarifier is formed not to have the vapour space in at least a part of places which is below a temeprature wherein a platinum volatile matter included in the vapour space is solidified.</p> |
