PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device that detects a color of a component with respect to a biological sample composed of a plurality of components.SOLUTION: A detection device 1 is to perform a detection to a container 2 in which a sample containing a first component 4 and second components 5 and 6 is stored, and the detection device comprises: an imaging part 11 that photographs the container; a background part 16 that becomes a background of the imaging part; and a detection part 14 that detects a color of the first component of the sample. The container is arranged between the imaging part and the background part. The detection part is adapted to recognize a first area of the first component with a label adhered to the container as the background and a second area of the first component with the background part as the background, and detect color information on the first component from at least one area out of the first area and the second area.
