PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor drive device capable of preventing abnormal operation of a motor by detecting erroneous estimation in magnetic pole position estimation.SOLUTION: The motor drive device includes: a magnetic pole position estimation device 1 that outputs a piece of positional information 12, a current command 13 and a magnetic pole estimation accuracy measurement command 16 based on a piece of positional information 10, a piece of movement direction information 11 and a magnetic pole estimation accuracy measurement result 17; a movement direction determination device 4 that outputs a piece of movement direction information 11 based on the current command 13 and the positional information 10; and a magnetic pole estimation accuracy measurement device 5 that outputs a magnetic pole estimation accuracy measurement result 17 and a current control switch signal 18, and outputs a current command 13 for driving a motor by using a current phase determined by the magnetic pole position estimation device 1, and outputs the magnetic pole estimation accuracy measurement command 16 at a point when the amount of change of the positional information 10 reaches a predetermined specified value. Thus, the motor drive device makes a final determination (normal, abnormal) of the magnetic pole estimation according to the magnetic pole estimation accuracy measurement result 17. |
