PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode for resistance welding which allows welding with the heat generated by itself through electrification even when a to-be-welded material is a hardly weldable material and provides an electrode for resistance welding less reactive with the to-be-welded material.SOLUTION: An electrode for resistance welding uses one or more of metal carbides, nitrides and borides of metals of Groups 4a to 6a, etc. in surfaces of the electrode coming in contact with to-be-welded materials. The materials have relatively high electric resistivity, have a high resistance calorific value when used as an electrode and make hard-to-weld materials easily weldable. Even when the to-be-welded metal is a material easy to deposit on an electrode, e.g. aluminum or magnesium, the electrode causes less deposition owing to low reactivity.
|
