PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately generate a travel route to avoid a collision with an obstacle.SOLUTION: In a travel support device according to the invention, an object detection section 1 detects whether a peripheral obstacle for a vehicle itself is present or not (detecting a first region and a second region) (S1). And a current position of the vehicle itself is calculated almost simultaneously with S1 (S2). A recording section 12 records a result detected in S1 and a result calculated in S2 over time according to movement of the vehicle, and a vehicle periphery situation map is generated on the basis of the over time recorded first region and second region (S3). The travel route is generated by a route generation section 13 on the basis of the generated vehicle periphery situation map (S4). Start support is performed with use of the generated travel route (S5). |
