PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting a lower limit value of operating voltage of a portable communication terminal, and a portable communication terminal which can effectively use up a remaining charge in a battery.SOLUTION: The method for setting a lower limit value of operating voltage of a portable communication terminal configured to perform transmission by the use of a power amplifier includes the steps of: measuring a transmission output and a distortion amount in a state of saturation of the power amplifier (S101); calculating a distortion amount at a rated transmission output on the basis of the measured transmission output and distortion amount and a predetermined distortion characteristic (S102); calculating a lower limit value of operating voltage satisfying a standard value of distortion amount on the basis of the calculated distortion amount at the rated transmission output and operating voltage dependence of the distortion characteristic (S103); and storing the calculated lower limit value of operating voltage in a storage section of the portable communication terminal (S104).
