The purpose of the present invention is to provide a backup control device and a backup control method, with which the effects of improper access, virus infections, hardware failure, or the like of a data transfer source that is accessible via a communications network such as the internet, may be kept to a minimum, and which can easily and reliably execute backups to a transfer destination. Provided are a backup control device and a backup control method, in which a computer connected to a communications network such as the internet serves as a master device, and in the event that data on the master device is transferred to a plurality of slave devices having storage capacity, the slave devices are controlled to open and close in series at a time lag, whereby transfer of data takes place only to a slave device currently connected to the master device at the time of transfer. |
