<p>A video encoding and decoding method and a three-dimensional video codec are provided. In which the video decoding method includes: if receiving an MV-HEVC coded stream, turning off all tools included in 3D-HEVC but not included in MV-HEVC and decoding the MV-HEVC coded stream; and if receiving a 3D-HEVC coded stream, decoding the 3D-HEVC coded stream. The video encoding method includes: encoding a video signal to produce a 3D-HEVC coded stream, and setting values of switch flags for all tools included in 3D-HEVC but not included in MV-HEVC as turning on or turning off corresponding tools. The three-dimensional video decoder can be enabled to decode MV-HEVC coded stream to achieve compatibility of 3D-HEVC with MV-HEVC, and more flexibility can also be provided for 3D-HEVC.</p> |
