PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and program capable of suppressing the processing to read or write data from/in a storage device from being delayed.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 2 includes a SMART information acquisition unit 20 that acquires the number of pending sectors in a hard disk drive 100, and an alternative processing instruction unit 30 that instructs the hard disk drive 100 to perform, for a sector determined to be a defective sector among the pending sectors, processing to switch a reading destination or writing destination to an alternative sector when the acquired number of pending sectors is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold. |
