PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device which performs cleaning operation including suction operation of sucking liquid from a nozzle, and which can stably jet liquid even after the cleaning operation, and a control method of a liquid jet device.SOLUTION: The liquid jet device includes: a liquid jet head 3; drive signal generation means 47 which generates micro vibration pulses; control means 41, 43 which control application of the micro vibration pulses to pressure generation means 31; a cap 14 which includes a sealed space 14c without absorbing material inside and adheres to the liquid jet head 3 to seal a nozzle 24 in the sealed space 14c; and suction means 50 which sucks liquid from the nozzle 24. By applying at least one or more micro vibration pulse to the pressure generation means 31 corresponding to the nozzle 24 in which cleaning operation including suction operation by the suction means 50 is performed, micro vibration drive which micro-vibrates liquid in a pressure chamber 28 corresponding to the nozzle 24 is performed intermittently. |
