The device consists of a tube 7 inside which a rack 3 is made to move by two notched half-arms 1, 1b. The assembly is held together by two shells 5. Any force exerted on the half-arms 1, 1b causes the rack 3 to move up and the load to be released. A spring 6 moves the rack 3 back down and the half-arms 1, 1b back up once the load is released. The unlocking of the rack 3 and the length of its travel are controlled by both an oblong slot 2 and a triggering finger 9. The device of this invention is intended for ski lifts, making it possible to pull two skiers on the same pole and may be used for the transport of loads. <IMAGE>
