The invention relates to a device for extruding elastomer mixtures comprising a rotating screw (1) with helical threads (3) arranged in a stationary sheath (2), the upstream end (7) of the screw being able to be coupled to means for driving the rotation and the downstream end (8) thereof being able to propel a mixture toward an outlet channel, the screw having a tubular shape to allow the flow of a fluid coming from a hydraulic cooling circuit, the outer diameter of the downstream end (8) of the screw (1) defining, with the inner diameter of the outlet orifice (6) of the sheath (2), an air gap for the passage of the mixture. According to the invention, the device comprises a working ring (20, 30) mounted to be directly removable using quick fastening means in the vicinity of said downstream end (8) so as to modify the air gap based on the composition of the mixture used and to apply a shear stress to the mixture in said air gap.
