Provided is a display device which does not undergo the wrinkling or warpage of an optical sheet and therefore does not undergo the deterioration in display quality. The display device is equipped with a display panel, a light source, an optical plate which is so arranged as to face the display panel and can diffuse or guide light of the light source, and an optical sheet which is arranged on one surface of the optical sheet, and is also equipped with a pressing section which can press the edge part of the optical sheet and a facing section which is operated in coordination with the pressing section and has a facing surface that faces the edge surface of the optical sheet. The facing surface is inclined in such a manner that the distance between the facing surface and the edge surface becomes gradually shorter toward the display panel.
