<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escalator fall prevention device capable of preventing an escalator from falling without causing fracture and destruction of fitting parts in an event of a major earthquake.SOLUTION: An escalator fall prevention device 100 in this invention comprises a link chain 10 for connecting an escalator 30 and a floor 40, in which a plurality of links are linked. The link chain 10 includes: a soft link 53 for causing plastic bending when a prescribed tensile load acts in a longitudinal direction; and a rigid link that does not cause plastic bending. The curvature radius of the curved part of the soft link 53 is larger than the curvature radius of the curved part of the rigid link. Even when the escalator 30 drops out from the floor 40 and impact load acts on to the escalator fall prevention device 100, the impact load is mitigated by the plastic bending of the soft link 53, and it is possible to prevent the escalator from falling without breaking the escalator fall prevention device 100 and its fitting parts.</p> |
