PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based ink for ink-jet recording, which has excellent storage stability and ejection property, and when printed on a low absorptive recording medium such as offset coat paper, shows excellent print density, glossiness, and image reproducibility, and to provide an ink-jet recording method using the water-based ink.SOLUTION: There is provided [1] the method for producing a water-based ink for ink-jet recording which contains water-insoluble vinyl polymer particles A containing 2 or more kinds of pigments and water-insoluble vinyl polymer particles B, the method having a step I where a dispersion treated material of the pigment-containing water-insoluble polymer particles A are obtained by dispersing at least an azo pigment and a quinacridone pigment in water in the presence of a water-insoluble polymer a, and there is provided [2] the ink-jet recording method in which the water-based ink obtained by the method [1] is ejected onto a recording medium, and in which an amount of water absorbed by the recording medium when the recording medium and pure water come in contact for 100 m seconds is 0 g/mor more and 10 g/mor less. |
