摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber accelerometer which has a wide frequency range, high sensitivity, and low self noise, to allow usage in all measurement fields.SOLUTION: An optical fiber accelerometer includes a hollow body 19 which internally supports an optical fiber 11 so as to form a cantilever part, and an optical fiber splitter 14 coupled to a light source 16 and a first end part 12 of the optical fiber, with the latter used for guiding light to the optical fiber through a first branch of the optical splitter. An optical detector 18 receives light that is transported through a second branch of the optical splitter after passing through the optical fiber, for measuring intensity of the received light. A reflection object 22 causes fluctuation in alignment with a second end part of the hollow body by acceleration, thereby the cantilever part changes momentum intensity of the light reflected at the second end part of the optical fiber by the object. The reflection object is formed of an optical fiber stub containing a slope or a step surface.
