摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a shortage of an oil film of a transmission mechanism at the time of transition to traveling using driving force of an internal combustion engine after starting a hybrid vehicle that starts using driving force of an electric motor.SOLUTION: A power transmission device for a vehicle includes a first oil pump 36 that can be driven by a differential gear 22 to supply lubricating oil to a toroidal transmission mechanism 13. When the vehicle starts travelling from the stopped state, only an electric motor 32 is driven by electric power stored in an electric storage device 40 to travel using a second power transmission path 39. Simultaneously with starting of the vehicle, the first oil pump 36 is driven to supply the lubricating oil to the toroidal transmission mechanism 13, so that the lubricating oil is supplied in advance before the toroidal transmission mechanism 13 is actuated, so as to prevent a shortage of an oil film. In addition, when a discharge amount of the first oil pump 36 reaches a first threshold value or larger, an internal combustion engine E is driven to allow traveling using a first power transmission path 38, so that the toroidal transmission mechanism 13 is actuated with the sufficient supply amount of the lubricating oil, so as to ensure lubrication of the toroidal transmission mechanism 13 and maintain its function.
