The present invention aims to provide an apparatus and a method for cutting fabric, capable of sealing an open area of an enclosed member formed by cutting fabric during a fabric cutting process. The apparatus includes: a support part which supports the fabric; a compression part which discharges air in a space between the support part and a cover as the cover having an area lager than that of the fabric is arranged on the fabric in order to compress the fabric; a cutting part which is transferred from an upper side of the support part and cuts the fabric; and a sealing part that is transferred with the cutting part, supplies a sealing member to the open area, which is opened as the fabric is cut, and then closes the open area. Accordingly, the open area, formed by cutting fabric during the fabric cutting process, is sealed in real time. Therefore, the fabric can be precisely cut; and thus quality of the fabric is increased. |
