PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve occupant restraint performance of a side airbag whose front bag part and rear bag part are partitioned by a front/rear partition part.SOLUTION: In the side airbag device, while a side airbag 20 being inflated and expanded, a tension cloth 56 hung between a front/rear partition part 40 and a rear end part of a rear bag part 26 is extended to suppress inflation in a vehicle longitudinal direction of the rear bag part 26. This allows an inflation width in a vehicle width direction of the rear bag part 26 to widen without changing greatly positions in the vehicle longitudinal direction of the front/rear partition part 40. Further, in a planarly expanded state of the side airbag 20, the tension cloth 56 is hung between the front/rear partition part 40, folded in two to protrude toward the rear bag part 26, and the rear bag part 26. This allows dimensions of each part to be set so that the rear bag part 26 in the planarly expanded state does not have an excessive length so as to enable the side airbag 20 to be folded compactly. |
