PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a link for chain in which an abrasion resistance can be improved even under a lubrication condition of an adhesion system mode.SOLUTION: This invention constitutes a link plate 2 for steel silent chain having a pin hole 22 into which a connection pin 3 is inserted. The inner circumferential surface of the pin hole 22 is formed with a hardening layer attained by applying a heat treatment (for example, martempering) and at the same time, many hard particles (hp) with the same hardness as the surface hardness of the hardening layer or higher hardness than that of the former at the surface layer part of the hardening layer are spotted in a composition of martensite under their crystalline state. The hard particles (hp) are oxide, carbide or nitride of any one element of Cr, V, Ti and Nb that have been already present in steel of the link plate material. |
