<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction of print quality and occurrence of paper jams and to improve throughput in a printer with two-sided print function in which paper P printed on the front side is reversed in an inverting conveyance path and then the back side is printed.SOLUTION: A controller of the printer 1 feeds the paper P from a paper supply path 12 to a main conveyance path 13, drives a paper feed roller pair 21 to convey the paper P in a first direction FF along the main conveyance path 13, and prints on the front side of the paper P. After completing the print on the front side, the controller switches the conveyance direction to a second direction BF opposite to the first direction FF, and feeds backward to a looped inverting conveyance path 14 at a faster conveyance speed F2 than the conveyance speed F1 at the time of printing. Then first and second conveyance rollers 31 and 33 are driven to convey the paper at high speed along the inverting conveyance path 14, to thereby invert the front and back and return the paper to the main conveyance path 13 for printing the back side.</p> |
