PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire, which is improved in wet-grip performance, wear resistance and roll processability in a good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the composition.SOLUTION: The rubber composition comprises a rubber component and a zirconium compound having a silicon content of 1.0 mass% or more in terms of oxides.
