Provided is a lithium ion secondary battery that has a long service life and high reliability, and in which capacity deterioration caused by use over a long period of time is minimized. The lithium ion secondary battery comprises an electrode group in which a positive electrode and a negative electrode are wound with a separator therebetween and a battery can that houses the electrode group, and is characterized in that: a lithium ion source is housed within the battery can; the lithium ion source and the positive electrode are electrically connected via a positive electrode-side diode; the positive electrode-side diode and the positive electrode are connected by an aluminum conductor wire; and the positive electrode-side diode and the lithium ion source are connected by a copper conductor wire, an iron conductor wire, a nickel conductor wire, or a stainless steel conductor wire. |
