The present technique relates to a signal processing device and method, an imaging element, and an imaging device, whereby it is possible to suppress the occurrence of A/D conversion errors. The signal processing device using the present technique is provided with: a comparison unit which compares an analog signal output from an individual pixel with a predetermined voltage; a switching unit which, when necessary, switches the reference voltage supplied to the comparison unit, in such a manner that one of a plurality of reference voltages for different degrees of grayscale accuracy is connected to the comparison unit and the other reference voltages are connected to a predetermined load capacitance; and a measurement unit which measures the timing of changes in the result of the comparison by the comparison unit of the analog signal with the reference voltage supplied to the comparison unit in accordance with the switching control by the switching unit. The present technique can be applied to, for example, imaging elements and imaging devices. |
