The present invention relates to a battery charge and discharge protection circuit which is connected to an anode terminal and a cathode terminal to form a battery pack. The protection device includes a MOSFET and a protection IC which controls the MOSFET. The source terminal of the MOSFET is directly connected to the cathode terminal of the battery. The drain terminal of the MOSFET is the cathode terminal of the battery pack.
