PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle brake system capable of effectively actuating a brake hold function by a brake force generated by a brake fluid pressure while suppressing energy consumption of a power unit.SOLUTION: Provided is a vehicle brake system 10 including a pump 136 serving as step-up means, controlled by control means 150 that can control a power unit outputting power to cause drive wheels (WFR, WFL) of a vehicle to generate a drive torque, for increasing a brake force generated when a brake pedal 12 is actuated, and configured so as to be able to actuate a brake hold function of holding the brake force generated by actuating the brake pedal 12 and keeping the vehicle in a stationary state. The control means 150 actuates the brake hold function upon determining that the brake force acts to make the vehicle stationary, reduces the power output from the power unit, and controls the pump 136 to increase the brake force to keep the brake force. |
