<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent glazing and clogging from occurring at grinding whetstones by reducing the load applied on the grinding whetstones.SOLUTION: A grinding wheel 30 at least includes: an annular wheel base 31 having a mounting surface 33 to be mounted on a wheel mount 20; grinding whetstones 40 annularly disposed on a whetstone mounting surface 38 opposite to the mounting surface 33; and an annular ultrasonic transducer 50 disposed inside the wheel base 31. The grinding whetstones 40 are fixed in a non-circular shape around the center of the wheel base 31 as the center of gravity. When a plate-like workpiece is ground by the grinding whetstones 40, ultrasonic vibration emitted from the ultrasonic transducer 50 is transmitted to the grinding whetstones 40, and the grinding whetstones 40 can grind the plate-like workpiece W while vibrating in a horizontal direction. Thus, the load applied on the grinding whetstones 40 when the plate-like workpiece W is ground is reduced, thereby glazing and clogging can be suppressed and the life of the grinding wheel 30 can be prolonged.</p> |
