<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide M-CSF-specific monoclonal antibodies and uses thereof.SOLUTION: M-CSF-specific RX1-based or RX1-derived antibodies are provided, along with pharmaceutical compositions containing such antibodies, kits containing a pharmaceutical composition, and methods of preventing and treating bone loss or remodeling in a subject afflicted with an osteoblastic or osteolytic disease. In one embodiment, the method of the invention comprises a step of administering to a subject a non-murine antibody which competes with a monoclonal antibody RX1 for binding to M-CSF by more than 75%, where the monoclonal antibody RX1 comprises a heavy chain and a light chain of which amino acid sequences are set forth in SEQ ID NOs: 2 and 4 respectively.</p> |
