PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining installation positions of fans which allows efficient cooling of electronic equipment in racks in a data center with a smaller number of fans than the number of the racks.SOLUTION: When determining installation positions of fans in a data center having a construction in which cool air is supplied to electronic equipment housed in racks through vent ports provided in the floor on an air intake surface side of each of the racks, temperature distributions on air intake surfaces of the racks and a temperature distribution in the space above the racks are obtained first. After that, installation positions of fans are determined by a control device on the basis of the temperature distributions on the air intake surfaces of the racks and the temperature distribution in the space above the racks. |
