SECTION INSULATOR, AND ABRASION JUDGEMENT METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a section insulator improved in a shape thereof so as to easily know the progression of abrasion with measurement by means of an inspection car, and to provide an abrasion judgment method of the section insulator.SOLUTION: An insulation body 10 of a section insulator is formed such that, in the vertical cross-section in a front-back direction, a width and/or a shape of a sliding surface is changed in accordance with an abrasion of the sliding surface of the insulation body 10. Because the width or the shape is changed when the sliding surface of the insulator 10 is abraded, the progression of the abrasion can be informed by measuring the width or the shape by means of an inspection car. When the measured width and the shape reach an abrasion limit, it is informed of that the width and the shape reach the abrasion limit and an insulation member can be quickly replaced.
