The invention relates to a cigarette-type smoking product comprising a rod of smoking material rolled into a cylindrical paper wrapper, and an ignition element. The ignition element is in the form of a core embedded inside the smoking rod along the longitudinal axis thereof and protruding beyond the end of the rod. The protruding end of the ignition element has a layer of a friction ignitable coating applied thereto. The technical result is a simplified design for a cigarette-type smoking product which is provided with its own ignition means, as well as less labour-intensive manufacture of the product and greater functional reliability.
