The present invention relates to a display device and to a method for manufacturing the same. The display device includes a lower member, a display panel which is arranged on the lower member and includes an organic layer, an upper member which is disposed on the display panel, and a groove area where at least one among upper member and the lower member is removed in a part to which the display device is bent. The method for manufacturing the display device includes the steps of: forming the lower member; forming the display panel including the organic layer on the lower member; forming the upper member on the display panel; and forming the groove area by removing at least one among the upper member and the lower member. The present invention provides the display device for reducing a neighboring area.
