A method for producing an electrolyzed water composition for use in cleaning and sanitation is described. The apparatus used to make the aqueous composition is also described. The method comprises: preparing an aqueous electrolyte solution, at least one carbonate salt, and at least one chloride salt. The aqueous electrolyte solution is introduced into an electrolytic cell with a plurality of boron-doped diamond electrodes (BDE, BDD). The apparatus includes a reservoir which is in fluid communication with the cell and a feed stream comprising the electrolyte solution. The electrolysed water composition may have an ozone (O3) concentration of 0.1-750ppm and may be used as an antibacterial, antimicrobial and a cleaning agent. |
