<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for recovering CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>by which CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>absorption liquid can be regenerated without a regeneration tower, miniaturization of the apparatus can be attained and further a construction cost can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for recovering CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>is provided with a CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>absorption tower 1 which absorbs CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>in gas to be treated by bringing the CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>absorption liquid into contact with the gas to be treated and a reboiler which is communicated with the CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>absorption tower and which heats the CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>absorption liquid in a CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>rich state sent out of the CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>absorption tower to separate CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>from the CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>absorption liquid.
