Chip size is reduced by reducing the number of capacitors on a chip while maintaining signals having high noise resistance. Provided is a solid-state imaging device (1) that includes capacitors (C) in a number greater than a unit read-out number that are connected in parallel to a second transfer line (7) to which a plurality of first transfer lines (5), having a plurality of pixels (3) connected thereto, are connected in parallel and that performs a step of repeating, for as many times as the unit read-out number, by switching the pixels (3) and the capacitors (C), an operation in which a noise signal output from one of the pixels (3) is transferred to and retained in one of the capacitors (C) via the second transfer line (7); and a step of repeating, for as many times as the unit read-out number, by switching the pixels (3) and the capacitors (C), an operation in which a signal-plus-noise signal output from one of the pixels (3) is transferred to and retained in one of the capacitors (C) via the second transfer line (7), and the noise signal and the signal-plus-noise signal that have been output from the same pixel (3) and retained in separate capacitors (C) are subsequently output at the same time. |
