A device for non-invasive measurement of the blood volume in a human extremity (UE) contains a balance (1) for measuring the instantaneous weight of said extremity, and is characterized by the following features: the extremity of interest is laid on a balance pan (1a); the balance (1) is an electronic weighing device the output signal from which is applied to a control and arithmetic unit (3, 8) which controls the course of the examination and processes and outputs the results of the weighing; a correction signal which makes allowance for the position of the extremity (UE) of interest in relation to the body of the person (P) is supplied to the control and arithmetic unit by an input unit (3a); after the extremity is laid on the balance pan, the weighing device measures the weight acting on the pan at brief time-intervals and initiates the actual examination only if the results of the weighings carried out within a given period of time differ by less than a predetermined value.
|
