<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine a scene change even when there is a moving image area.SOLUTION: Division means 5 divides rectangular motion areas of the (n-1)th frame and the n-th frame into unit blocks each of which is composed of a predetermined number of pixels. Difference minimum value calculation means 7 determines a unit block in which a difference absolute value becomes minimum about all unit blocks of the (n-1)th frame within a search range of the n-th frame and determines the difference absolute value of the unit block as a unit block difference minimum value to find out a minMAD significant average value. Threshold determination means 9 calculates difference absolute values of all unit blocks of the (n-1)th frame from blocks on the same positions in the n-th frame and finds out a zeroMV-MAD significant average value as a threshold. When the minMAD significant average value exceeds the threshold, determination means 11 determines the presence of a scene change.</p> |
