In a device for electrolytic etching, especially of aluminium foils for electrolytic capacitors, electrodes are arranged which consist of an electrically conductive material (1) which is largely chemically inert with respect to the etching electrolyte. On their front sides which face the foils, the electrodes are covered with an electrically non-conductive material (2).
