<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement rapid acceleration suppression control for vehicle only in an area where the control is really required. <P>SOLUTION: Upon optical transmission of signals indicating the acceleration suppression area where vehicle acceleration has to be suppressed from digital LED signages 23, a camera installed on a vehicle receives the signals from the digital LED signages 23 positioned outside the vehicle, and a determination unit determines whether or not an own vehicle is within the acceleration suppression area, on the basis of the signals received by the camera. When the own vehicle is determined to be within the acceleration suppression area, traveling control unit implements rapid acceleration suppression control for suppressing acceleration of the own vehicle; therefore, vehicle rapid acceleration can be completely prevented only in a restricted area such as a vicinity of parking spaces 22 where rapid acceleration of the vehicle is required to be prevented, thereby avoiding excessive rapid acceleration suppression control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
