<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key switch that further reduces operation sound while ensuring click feeling and is superior in quietness. <P>SOLUTION: The key switch comprises: an insulating substrate 3 having fixed contacts 31 and 32 disposed on the surface; a snap plate 2 made of a dome-shaped metallic plate that is deformable and has a spring property; and a buffer material 4 to be inserted between the insulating substrate and the snap plate disposed on the surface of the insulating substrate. The buffer material is composed of a spacer sheet 41 having a punching hole 40 formed at a position corresponding to the fixed contacts and an upper sheet 42 and a lower sheet 43 stuck together with the spacer sheet interposed therebetween. The lower sheet is stuck on the surface of the insulating substrate with another spacer sheet 5 having another punching hole 50 formed at a position corresponding to the fixed contacts interposed therebetween. Also, on the upper surface of the upper sheet, the snap plate is disposed to stride across the punching hole.
