PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus compatibly satisfying downsizing of the apparatus and depth of field extension, and an image reading device used therefor.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes an illumination means for irradiating illumination light having a predetermined wavelength band; an image acquiring means composed of a plurality of pixels having different spectral sensitivities for acquiring individual color images with respect to a plurality of colors; an image formation means which allows image formation positions to be different from one another among the plurality of colors by guiding light which is generated by reflection of the illumination light from an original to the image acquiring means, and by generating a predetermined chromatic aberration; and an image processing means for generating an image having a long depth from a plurality of color images acquired by the image acquiring means. It is configured so that a magnitude relationship between illumination intensity at an object point position of a first color and illumination intensity at an object point position of a second color is the reverse of a magnitude relationship between an output characteristic value of the first color and an output characteristic value of the second color. |
