<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for dentistry, inhibiting the decomposition of a dentin organic component by a splitting enzyme, exhibiting effects for preventing periodontal disease and dental caries, and preserving tooth bud over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for the dentistry contains an enzyme inhibitor (A). The enzyme inhibitor (A) is preferably the enzyme inhibitor inhibiting a hydrolytic enzyme of a peptide linkage, belonging to EC3.4, and more preferably, the enzyme inhibitor inhibiting matrix metalloproteinase.
