<p>The impact absorbing section (29) of the front hood (15) of an automobile is provided with: left and right sidewall sections (29a) extending in the front-rear direction; and an upper wall section (29b) connecting the upper portions of the left and right sidewall sections (29a) and bent so as to protrude upward. The upper wall section (29b) comprises surfaces (A, B, C, D) interconnected in the front-rear direction with ridge lines (d, e, f) therebetween, the ridge lines extending in the left-right direction. The height of the upward protrusion of the upper wall section (29b) from a frame body section (28) is greater on the rear side of the impact absorbing section (29) than on the front side thereof. As a result, the impact absorbing section (29) has a sufficient amount of crushing allowance to increase the amount of energy absorption, the ridge lines (d, e, f) serve as fold lines for promoting the deformation of the upper wall section (29b), and in addition, the upper wall section (29b) can be effectively deformed when a collision load is inputted from in front and above.</p> |
