An indicator light, which is preferably to be inserted into materials such as concrete or the like and consists of a plurality of illuminating elements (1), is constructed overall in the shape of a string, for the purpose of which neighbouring illuminating elements (1) are connected to one another by means of electrically insulated flexible leads (2). A sheath (3) of electrically insulating material encloses each illuminating element (1) with the exception of its topside and its upper circumferential region.
