A rechargeable battery according to the present disclosure includes an electrode assembly and a housing which stores the electrode assembly. The housing includes: a case which includes an opening part, exposes the sides of the case through the opening part, and stores the electrode assembly through the opening part; and cap plate sides which seal the case in the opening part and correspond to the sides of the case. The sides of the case include cap plates which are in contact with the cap plate sides to face each other in a first contact region and a second contact region. The first contact region and the second contact region are asymmetrical. |
