A vehicle body structure (1) includes a roof side rail (20), a roof arch (4), and a roof panel (5). The roof side rail (20) includes a mount portion (26) extending inward in a vehicle-transversal direction and having a vehicle-transversally outer end portion (5A) of the roof panel (5) mounted thereto. The roof arch (4) includes a vehicle-transversally outer end portion (4A) which is located outside a vehicle-transversally inner end (26A) of the mount portion (26) in the vehicle-transversal direction, is joined with the roof side rail (20) and is disposed at a position that is spaced apart downward from the vehicle-transversally outer end portion (5A) of the roof panel (5). At least one of the roof arch (4) and the roof side rail (20) includes a flange portion (24), (25), (43), (44) that extends toward the other one of the roof arch and the roof side rail and comes into contact with the other one of the roof arch and the roof side rail to restrict downward movement of the roof arch (4). The flange portion (24), (25), (43), (44) is located at a position upper than the vehicle-transversally outer end portion (4A) of the roof arch (4). |
