Disclosed are a system and method for monitoring a smart device, in which a student collects and analyzes usage information with respect to an application used in the smart device to provide monitoring information to a manager terminal, so that a manager terminal can efficiently manage student learning by using the smart device. The method for monitoring the smart device comprises: a database which holds usage information on the use of applications in correspondence to generation time; a reading unit which works with the generation of a monitoring request and reads, from the database, the usage information associated with the generation time corresponding to a period designated by the monitoring request; a preparing unit which works with the generation of the monitoring request and prepares monitoring information on applications in the smart device according to the period, wherein the monitoring information includes usage time; a providing unit which visualizes a ratio of the usage time to the period and provides the visualized ratio to the terminal generating the monitoring request; and a classifying unit which classifies the applications into any one category among an educational category, a sub-educational category, and a non-educational category according to the learning association degree. |
