The transport crate has parallel opposing sides (13, 14, 16, 17) extending between a base (11) and a cover (12), two of the sides (13,14) having hinge element (15) providing fold lines allowing the cover (12) to be folded down over the base (11). One of the remaining sides (16, 17), e.g. the front (17) is removable, to allow it to be inserted between the base (11) and the cover (12) and the folded sides (13, 14, 16). The front side (17) has projecting element fitting into corresponding openings in the base (11) and cover (12) to secure the crate in its collapsed position. USE - For packaging refrigerator, freezer, washing machine, or dishwasher.
